Sustainable Environment Research Workshop

The EPA is organising a workshop on Sustainable Environment Research Priorities for 2014-2020. The outcomes of this workshop will inform the foundations and directions of the new EPA Research Programme 2014-2020 (i.e. a replacement programme for STRIVE, which ends this year). It is proposed to cover EPA funding mechanisms and discuss the following four provisional Sustainable Environment topics:

  • Resource Efficiency
  • Health and Well Being
  • Socio Economics
  • Natural Capital and Ecosystem Services

This is your chance to have your say on what Sustainable Environment research will be funded in the coming years.
This event is free of charge but places are limited and registration is necessary for attendance.  Click here
A discussion document will also be made available in advance of this workshop. _______________________________________________________________________________
The EPA funds research under three pillars: Water, Sustainable Environment and Climate Change. The EPA is currently preparing a new research strategy for 2014-2020. A key part of this preparation involves stakeholder consultation. To enable debate and get the most from this process, a number of consultation workshops will be held during the year in each Pillar area. Details of other workshops are:

  • Although a subtheme of the Sustainable Environment pillar, a separate Soil and Land Use Research Workshop will be held on Tuesday 10/09/2013.
  • A Climate Change Research Workshop will be held on Thursday 19/09/2013.
  • A Water Research Workshop was already held on 28/06/2013 – information about the workshop, including presentations, is available here
